Civil War:Trailer Talk

I want pictures of spiderman spiderman spiderman...oh, meh i guess

Hey guys! First trailer talk but it’s a great trailer to start. So let’s see this trailer and see if it sucks....ah who am i kidding i mean how awesome will it be. Please be a Winter Soldier, not a Thor, please. Marvel please. Do this justice.

Now let me talk about Civil War, the storyline. I am not an expert (yead h duh). I did not see all the comics but when i first started reading comics this was the first major storyline i read. And i loved it. The debate of individual rights versus the common good, and how neither side wins with war was beautiful. It shows how neither side is right but the “fight” is going to tear families (cry susan storm to those who know cry). I am hoping the movie can have the same great mirroring of the common world and use the story arch as a metaphor as efficiently (learn from zootopia guys). We see hints of the fight of ideology with government intervention and public outcry (“we need to be put in check. Whatever form that is i’m game” yesss) and how Captain America seems to be fighting for Bucky in an individual level just please make it good.

Now first, the focus on Bucky. Yesss. It’s great that this trailer shows that there is some, which is great cause this is still a Captain America movie and this arch needs to be settled. Plus sure, focus on Cap great. But this trailer shows that there are other things going on, other spotlights other than this. Great! That’s  why civil war is a universal crossover not a pair up Yaayyy!

Next, “New York” “Washington DC” “Sokovia”. Yes. Great heroes saving people and caring for people. And you can see how it affects characters. Great! Character building and distinct traits. Not just a bashing (ahem Man Of Steel), maybe the reason why they decide to fight in a empty airport but more on that later.

Next, T’challa. Ahahaha hes fighting Bucky all the time ahahah. Great that shows that he has great power and he also is a great black role model. Him crying also shows character development great. And a bulletproof suit and superhuman strength and speed yeees, do this well and we can do the Black Panther but also Cap cause so far they seem to have similar powers.

Next, Iron Man. Nooooo please do him well. They seem to be making Tony as the villain, making him too assholish and too pricky. Let’s hope they still keep the essence of the two right sides in the movie. And please don’t ruin the perfect likeable asshole ratio that is Iron Man please.

Next, the fight scenes. Ohhh yes please. What do i have to say they look great, like a great bashing of equal power and the Russos definitely have game so boom.

Next, Rhodes falling and the major bitch slap. Aww emotions great. Character great. Tension beyond ideology but bond great. This is what the MCU does well, an idea and a fight, but beyond that we have gods who are human amongst humans who play god. Yes.

Next, Scarlet Witch and vision. Great tension between lovers (yeah ofc they are) and also shows the equal fight. Their scenes are going to be the best i bet.

Next, Ant-Man fight scenes, on an arrow!!! Great iconic scene and great different action that we all loved on Ant-Man can’t wait to see more and see how they blend him into the 360 shot.

Next, Crossbones and Baron Zemo. Haizz. Make them play small roles or else. I mean the movie is so packed and to do justice by all the characters and stories give them time! As seen in Spiderman films, too much is too much, so please don’t cram.

AND FOR THE FINAL BOMB, spiderman. The suit is too cartoony for me but i think it’ll look fine in the movie it looks defines enough not like the power ranger suit we have now. And the eyes ugh dude too much makeup go swimming.

So! Civil War looks great and it probably will be Yay!

Zootopia : Review

Summary: 4/5. Great family fun movie, with great characters and great underlying criticism of biases in society. But the humour did not always hit and the ending was sloppily executed.

“Go back to the desert” “I’m from the Savannah”. That’s where I was sold. That sounds exactly like a racist bigot (aka Trump supporter) talking to a minority race, or a xenophobic man talking to a foreigner. And it’s little moments like that that grounds the movie in real life.

Ok guy, let’s be frank the whole movie the best part was the racist commentary. From the community telling you you won’t make it in certain jobs, to workplace discrimination, to everyone using race as the reasoning for a common unexplained pattern, to racial profiling, all of it fits so well and in a way that non racist parents can explain to their kids. This is fun but it is also deeper and makes a bold statement in a KIDS movie!

The animation was okay...

But the characters make up well for it. Judy Hopps! Really enthusiastic, really fun, very bright and she’s not dumb but she has flaws and needs help from...Nick Wilde! Classic slick character and great fun. He knows his way around the “underground” and he is street smart. The chemistry and the relationship is great! At the midway mark I was like make it love and i’ll kill you this is good, this is feminism at its best, this is great female empowerment for girls...and they didn’t make it a love relationship. Yessss.

Now, my only qualm. The ending, it felt like the twist was not strong enough to be a huuuuh, but it did not have hints to allow for "a i knew it" moment. And the villain made no sense, like oh get all predators killed and we are on top but we do so by making predators go crazy. That just does not fit into the great mirroring of society. It's not like racists are radicalising extremists to make everyone hate muslims. What?!

Overall it’s a great fun, and deep and enlightening movie that fell apart at the end but it well makes up for that.
